S16 (ZVV)

The S16 is a regional railway service of the S-Bahn Zürich on the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV), Zürich transportation network, and is one of the network's services connecting the cantons of Zürich and Schaffhausen.
== Route ==

The core of the service links Effretikon, in the municipality of Illnau-Effretikon to the north of Zürich, and Herrliberg-Feldmeilen, on north shore of Lake Zürich to the east of Zürich. This core service runs via Zürich Airport, Zürich Oerlikon, Zurich Hauptbahnhof and Zürich Stadelhofen, and then runs over the Lake Zürich right-bank railway line to its terminus.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 Thayngen–Schaffhausen–Flughafen–Zürich HB–Herrliberg-F )
At the northern end of the service, alternate trains are extended from Effretikon to Thayngen, in the canton of Schaffhausen, running via Winterthur Hauptbahnhof and Schaffhausen. Between Winterthur and Schaffhausen, trains stop only at selected stations, with a parallel stopping service provided by line S33.〔
At the southern end of the service, the S16 is extended to Meilen in the evenings.〔
